Instructions
-
Place the Better Board in position to insure that you have the correct model for fitment. Note all rivets and raised nubs that will need to be drilled out or ground down…mark with ink.
-
Remove Better Board for cutting and future install. Drill out all rivets associated to the running board cooler on the foot bed. Remove any suspension bolts or rivets from the running board at the rear suspension bracket. Drill out outer extrusion support rivets. Keep the tabs in place as that is your guide hole for all installation and rivets.
-
Drill out the outer rail extrusion rivets that would be under the Better Board along the outer foot bed. Grind down the nubs and remaining rivet heads that are marked or exposed from your earlier fitment.
-
Place the Better Board back in position to use as a marking template for the cut out. The Better Board should rest exactly up against the front foot well accessory in the front. Mark your cut path using angles to insure the proper amount of the running board is removed. One big cut out hole is recommended.
-
Cut out 1/8th larger diameter then the Better Board openings. Cut along the existing outer extrusion template leaving the existing rivet holes in place. Double check that you have a solid flat foot bed to rest the Better Board on.
-
Hammer the underside tunnel metal to meet the Better Board if necessary to create a flat and tight fitment. Clamp the board in place and drill up through each outer extrusion rivet hole..secure with a provided rivet one at a time. Drill and place three rivets at the front similar to the existing rivet pattern and two in the back just before the rear suspension bracket. Drill and rivet at the peak of each raised tunnel support directly into the tunnel.
